Any police officer, to the extent allowed by law, may enforce the speed restrictions authorized under Subchapter F of Chapter
33 of the Vehicle Code, Act of June 17, 1976, P.L. 162, No. 81, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq. (hereinafter and heretofore referred to as the "Vehicle Code"), as the same may be hereafter amended.
The rate of speed of any vehicle may be timed
on any street or highway within the physical boundaries of Lititz
Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, by a police officer using
an electrical and/or mechanical speed-timing device.
All electrical and/or mechanical speed-timing
devices shall be of a type approved by the Department of Transportation
of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and shall be calibrated and tested
in accordance with regulations prescribed by said Department of Transportation.
Every person convicted of a summary offense
for a violation of any speed restriction authorized under the Vehicle
Code shall be sentenced to pay those fines and costs established by
the applicable provisions of the Vehicle Code or any subsequent Act
of Assembly which amends said Vehicle Code. Disposition of said fine
or fines shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the Vehicle
Code.
