Pursuant to the authority granted by New York General Municipal
Law § 209-U, Subdivision 3, the Town hereby delegates to
the Chief of the Tuxedo Police or the police officer in command of
the Police Department or police force of the Town during the absence,
illness or disability of the Chief of Police who is authorized to
exercise the powers of the Chief of Police in emergency situations,
the following mutual aid powers granted in GML § 209-U.
A. When the public interest so requires, to request another local government
to detail, assign and make available for duty and use in the Town
of Tuxedo its police forces, equipment and supplies.
B. When the public interest so requires, to grant police assistance
to another local government.
The decisions as to whether the Town of Tuxedo shall assume
and/or donate any resulting loss, damage, expense or cost for such
equipment and supplies and services to the receiving local government
shall remain a Town Board determination in each instance.
