This article shall be known as the "Lower Pottsgrove Township Fire Code."

Except as amended and modified by the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (Act 45 of 1999), 34 Pa. Code Chapters 401 through 405, a certain document being marked and designated as the International Fire Prevention Code, 2018 Edition (hereinafter the "2018 IFPC"), as published by the International Code Council, Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the Township of Lower Pottsgrove, Montgomery County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, addition to, use, or maintenance of fire prevention systems in the Township; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions, and terms of such 2018 IFPC published by the International Code Council on file in the office of Lower Pottsgrove Township are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in the article, as set forth herein. Three copies of the 2018 IFPC are on file at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Building.

The granting of any permit or registration certificate under this article by the Township or any of its designated officials shall not constitute a representation, guarantee or warranty of any kind by the Township or any of its officials or employees as to the quality of workmanship or effectiveness of any construction or repairs and shall create no liability upon or a cause of action against the Township, its officials or employees for any property damage or personal injury that may result from any such construction or repairs.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to affect any lawsuit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance, nor shall any suit or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this article.

This article shall become effective as provided by law.
