There is hereby created the Economic Development Committee of the City
of Linwood. The Committee shall consist of seven members, including the Chairperson.
The members shall serve for three-year terms, provided that the members first
appointed to the Committee shall serve for terms of two for one year, two
for two years and three for three years.

The Mayor shall make the appointments to the Committee with the advice
and consent of the City Council. The Mayor shall designate the Chairperson
and the Mayor shall designate the first appointed members to serve for one-,
two- or three-year terms. The Mayor and a member of Council shall serve as
ex officio members of the Committee. To be eligible to serve on the Committee,
a person must be 18 years of age or older and must reside in the City, work
in the City or have a place of business in the City.
The Economic Development Committee shall collect information on opportunities
for business and investment in the City. The Economic Development Committee
shall prepare pamphlets explaining opportunities in the City. The Economic
Development Committee shall perform such other duties as the City Council
may from time to time authorize by resolution.
The Committee shall not exercise any power of condemnation or eminent
domain and shall not be authorized to pledge the credit of the City of Linwood
or any other municipality or the State of New Jersey or to create any debt
against or in any manner act as the agent of the City or of the State of New
Jersey.
The Committee shall submit a report to the Common Council of the City
of Linwood biannually. Those reports shall be submitted by June 15 and by
December 15 of each year and shall include Committee activities since the
last report and any results and pending results.
