It is the intent of this chapter to promote
the general welfare of the people of the Village of Woodbury by providing
for inspections for all amenities that are either dedicated to the
Village or which conceivably could be dedicated to the Village and
also to provide for proper inspection of water and sewer lines to
individual buildings throughout the Village of Woodbury.
A. It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Village
of Woodbury to conserve, protect and regulate the present water supply,
water distribution and sewer connection systems which are vital to
the future development of the Village as well as the protection of
the present Village's residents in order to enhance the health, safety
and welfare of the Village residents and their overall economic and
social well-being.
B. It is also the policy of the Village that all facilities
which are installed to service given buildings be adequately inspected
so as to prevent the installation of water and sewer lines to structures
within the Village in a manner which is not in full compliance with
not only the laws of the State of New York but also the laws of the
Village of Woodbury.
Refer to Chapter
143 of this Code for the fees required for necessary water and sewer inspections.
At the time a builder or a property owner applies
for a building permit for either a single-family residence not within
a subdivision or in a commercial facility, he shall be required to
pay the appropriate fees prior to the issuance of a building permit.
The Village Board reserves the right to waive
the payment of such inspection fees where, in the Village Board's
opinion, such a waiver is warranted.
