The mayor shall serve for a term of two years beginning on the
first Monday of January following his election.

Except as expressly otherwise provided in this Charter, all
appointed officers shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing power
and until their successors are qualified. All members of the boards
and commissions shall serve for the terms for which they were appointed
and until their successors are qualified, unless sooner removed for
cause, provided, however, that when the term of any member of a board
or commission expires, and no reappointment is made or successor is
appointed within sixty days following the expiration of said term,
the name of that board or commission member shall be deemed to be
before the council for approval in the same manner as if he or she
had been appointed to serve a new term by the mayor. The council shall
then have an additional thirty days to approve or reject the board
or commission member for a new term, and if the council shall fail
to act before the expiration of said thirty days, the member shall
be deem to have been approved.
