This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Enforcement
Officers Law of the Village of Mineola, New York."

A. Establishment. There is hereby established in the Incorporated Village
of Mineola a department to be known and designated as the "Department
of Building and Code Enforcement."
B. Department head; deputies. The Superintendent of the Building Department
shall be the head of the Department of Building and Code Enforcement.
There shall be such deputies, assistants and employees as may be authorized
by the Board of Trustees and appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval
of the Board of Trustees.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, any police officer of the Nassau
County Department of Police shall be authorized to enforce any of
the penal provisions of the Incorporated Village of Mineola Municipal
Code.
In addition to the authority granted to the Department of Building
and Code Enforcement, the Superintendent of Public Works and any of
his or her deputies, assistants or representatives shall have authority
to act as enforcement officers of any of the chapters for which they
are responsible to exercise supervision or control.
