The City Manager or the Manager's designee is hereby authorized to designate and maintain crosswalks by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of any street approximately equal in width to the adjacent sidewalks, at all intersections where in his/her opinion there is particular danger to pedestrians crossing the street.
The City Manager or the Manager's designee is hereby authorized to establish safety zones at such places upon the streets as in his/her opinion safety to pedestrians requires. Where safety zones are provided, such zones shall be marked in a visible and suitable manner. When so designated, no person shall drive a vehicle within a safety zone when the same is occupied.
