It is the intention of the electors of the Borough that if this
Charter cannot take effect in its entirety because of the judgment
of any court of competent jurisdiction holding invalid any part or
parts hereof, the remaining provisions of the Charter shall be given
full force and effect as completely as if the part or parts held invalid
have not been included herein.
Amendments to this Charter may be proposed and adopted in accordance
with the provisions of the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
governing home rule charters.
The Charter shall become effective and shall be deemed operative
on the first Monday of January of the year following the year of its
approval by the electors of the Borough.
A.
The use of the personal pronoun "he" in this charter is not to be
construed as barring any female person from holding any office or
performing any of the duties as herein mentioned if otherwise qualified.
B.
The Borough of Tyrone offers equal opportunity to all qualified persons
to hold any office or perform any of the duties herein set forth regardless
of age (if less than retirement age), sex, race or personal religious
belief.
