A. The
City Traffic Engineer shall determine the installation and proper
timing and maintenance of traffic control devices, conduct engineering
analyses and devise remedial measures, conduct engineering investigation
of traffic conditions, plan the operation of traffic on the streets
and highways of the City, and cooperate with the Chief of Police and
other City Officials in the development of ways and means to improve
traffic conditions, and carry out the additional powers and duties
imposed by ordinances of the City.
B. The services of a professional traffic engineer may be retained by the Board of Aldermen to assist the City Traffic Engineer in carrying out the responsibilities set forth in Subsection
(A) of this Section.
