Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Absecon City, Atlantic
County, and State of New Jersey:
This ordinance hereby adopts and enacts as the Code of the ordinances of the City of Absecon City that codification submitted to the Mayor and Council by General Code Publishers Corp. as to Chapters 14, 17, 21, 25, 28, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, 41, 42, 45, 47, 51, 53, 55, 60, 62, 66, 69, 71, 73, 74, 76, 78 and 79, inclusive, and as submitted to the Mayor and Council by General Code Publishers Corp. as revised and amended by the Council pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:49-4 as to Chapters
1, 4, 6,
7,
9, 11, 16, 18, 20,
23, 44, 57, 64, 67 and 82, inclusive, which revised chapters shall replace and supplant those same chapters as originally compiled and submitted by General Code Publishers Corp., which codification shall supersede all other general and permanent ordinances passed by the Council of the City of Absecon City prior to the adoption of said Code and excepting those ordinances as are expressly saved from repeal by reference thereto or those ordinances of a temporary or special nature which are nonregulatory in effect.
All provisions of said Code shall be in full force and effect
from and including the effective date of this ordinance, and all ordinances
of the City of Absecon City of a general and permanent nature and
not in said Code, or recognized and continued in force by reference
therein, are hereby repealed from and after the effective date of
this ordinance.
Any and all additions or amendments to said Code, when passed
in such form as to indicate the intention of the Council to make the
same a part thereof, shall be deemed to be incorporated in said Code
so that reference to the Code of the City of Absecon City shall be
understood and intended to include such additions and amendments.
A certified copy of said Code shall be kept on file in the office
of the City Clerk. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk, or someone
authorized by him, to insert in their designated places all amendments
or ordinances which indicate the intention of the Council to make
the same a part of said Code, when the same have been printed or reprinted
in page form, and to extract from said Code all provisions which may
be from time to time repealed by the Council. This copy of said Code
shall be available for all persons desiring to examine the same and
shall be considered the official Code of the City of Absecon City.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
change or amend, by additions or deletions, any part or portion of
said Code or to insert or delete pages or portions thereof or to alter
or tamper with said Code in any manner whatsoever which will cause
the law of the City of Absecon City to be misrepresented thereby.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are,
to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
Each section of said Code and every part of each section is
an independent section or part of a section, and the holding of any
section or part thereof to be unconstitutional, void or ineffective
for any cause does not affect the validity or constitutionality of
any other section or part thereof.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately after final passage
and publication according to law.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:49-4, the ordinances of the City of Absecon City of a general and permanent nature adopted by the City Council of the City of Absecon City on March 12, 1970, as revised, codified and consolidated into chapters and sections by General Code Publishers Corp., and as renumbered to consist of Chapters
