A. 
Licenses issued under this Article shall permit persons issued such licenses to engage in contracting work as described below:
1. 
General contractors. A general construction contractor may employ any persons necessary to completely construct and equip a building. Any person working as a subcontractor shall have a license for that particular trade and it shall be the responsibility of the general construction contractor to verify the subcontractor's license for the proper trade.
2. 
Plumbing contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to install plumbing of any kind and anyone doing this type of contract shall obtain a plumbing license.
3. 
Electrical contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do electrical work of any kind and anyone doing this type of contract shall obtain an electrician's license.
4. 
Carpentry contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do carpentry contracting and dry wall contracting and anyone doing this type of contract shall obtain a carpentry contracting license.
5. 
Concrete and masonry contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do concrete and masonry work of any kind and anyone doing this type of contract shall obtain a concrete and masonry license.
6. 
Painting contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do tile laying contracting, painting contracting, dry wall contracting and carpet laying contracting, and any contractor doing any of this type of contract shall obtain a painting contractor's license.
7. 
Heating, air-conditioning and sheet metal contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do heating, air-conditioning and sheet metal contracting and any contractor doing this type of work shall obtain a heating, air-conditioning and sheet metal contractor's license.
8. 
Roofing contractors. This license shall allow the licensee to do all phases of roofing, including both asphalt or pitch roofs and shingle roofs, and any contractor doing this type of work shall obtain a roofing contracting license.

A. 
No person shall be a contractor in any of the following trades, businesses or occupations without first obtaining a license therefor and paying for such annual license fees in such amounts as established by the City Council from time to time:
1. 
General contractors.
2. 
Plumbing contractors.
3. 
Electrical contractors.
4. 
Carpentry contractors.
5. 
Concrete and masonry contractors.
6. 
Painting contractors.
7. 
Heating, air-conditioning and sheet metal contractors.
8. 
Roofing contractors.

The licenses required by this Article shall be issued when the amount prescribed therefor shall be paid to the City Collector. Licenses shall be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk and countersigned by the Collector, and the City Clerk shall affix the Corporate Seal of the City thereto.

The licenses described above cannot be assigned or transferred by the holder thereof.
