A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Caruthersville, Missouri, being marked and designated as the International Residential Code, 2006 Edition, including Appendix Chapters A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, J, K, N and Q, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Residential Code of the City of Caruthersville in the State of Missouri for regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (town houses) not more than three (3) stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Residential Code on file in the office of the City Clerk of Caruthersville are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section
503.015 of this Code.

Any person violating the provisions of this Chapter or the code
adopted in this Chapter, as a violation is defined in Section R113
of the Residential Code, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and
upon conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not to exceed
five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned for a period not to
exceed ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each
day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute
a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
