Temporary employees are those persons who are hired to fill a position of less than six months' duration. Such employees are not entitled to any of the privileges or benefits enjoyed by permanent employees. Temporary employees may be appointed without examination for no longer than six months. If continued employment is desired, reclassification is necessary.
Part-time employees are hired to fill positions which require year-round occupancy by an employee but do not require such service during all regular work days or work hours of the year. Part-time employees will be entitled to no benefits.
