No person shall construct, alter, repair, move,
remove, demolish, equip, occupy, use or maintain any building, structure
or portion thereof in violation of any provision of this chapter,
the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, the
Energy Code, this Municipal Code, laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
of any agency having jurisdiction over the subject matter nor fail
to comply with lawful orders of the Director of Planning and Development
or his/her designee, nor shall any person engage in any trade or occupation
required to be licensed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter
without first obtaining the proper license provided for hereunder,
nor shall any person engage in any trade or occupation required to
be registered pursuant to the provisions of this chapter without first
properly registering as provided for hereunder.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
BUILDING PERMIT
A permit issued pursuant to §
146-5 of this chapter. The term "building permit" shall also include a building permit which is renewed, amended or extended pursuant to any provision of this chapter.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The Director of Planning and Development or the Director of Code Enforcement if so designated by the Director of Planning and Development pursuant to §
146-4A,
B and
C and working under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Development.

CODE ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL
Shall include the Director of Planning and Development, Director
of Code Enforcement, Senior Plan Examiner, Plan Review Officer, and
all inspectors.

REPAIR
The patching, restoration or renewal of any part of an existing
building with the same or similar materials for the purpose of its
maintenance.
