The term of office of the Bath Village Trustees commencing with the successors of the present incumbents shall be four years, except as hereinafter provided.
If the term of office of any elected Village Trustee in office at the time of the adoption of this article expires in an odd-numbered year, the successor of such Village Trustee shall be elected for a term of five years.
Henceforth, Village elections of Bath Village Trustees shall be held biennially in even-numbered years, except as hereinafter provided.
If the term of any elected Village Trustee in office at the time of the adoption of this article shall expire in a year which would require an election to be held in a year other than biennially in an even-numbered year, an election shall be held in such odd-numbered year, and there shall be elected to such office a successor for a term to commence upon the expiration of the term of such incumbent, and to end at 12:00 noon on the first Monday in the month following the Village election in the fifth calendar year following, and the successors of such Village Trustee(s) so elected shall be elected for terms of four official years.
