This Part shall be known as, and may be cited as the "Oxford Borough Police Policies of 1987."

This Part is hereby adopted by the Borough Council as the "Oxford Borough Police Policies of 1987." This Part shall take effect on the 14th day of July, 1987, and shall be controlling within the limits of the Borough of Oxford, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

The Use of Force Policy as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein and made a part hereof, shall be the "Use of Force Policy" of the Borough of Oxford.[1]

The Firearms Policy as set forth in Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated herein and made a part hereof, shall be the "Firearms Policy" of the Borough of Oxford.[1]

The Pursuit Driving Policy as set forth in Exhibit D attached hereto and incorporated herein and made a part hereof, shall be the "Pursuit Driving Policy" of the Borough of Oxford.[1]

This Part shall not apply to any person or property on whom or which it is beyond the legal power of the Borough Council to impose the tax or duties herein provided for.

The policies set forth and established herein are for the use of the Borough of Oxford and its Police Department only and do not apply in any criminal or civil proceeding. The policies are not intended to, nor should they be construed as creating a higher legal standard of safety or care in an evidentiary sense with respect to third parties. Violations of the policies will only form the basis for administrative sanction.
