This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Water Use Law of the Town of Macedon."
The provisions of Part 1 and all regulations and specifications promulgated thereunder shall be considered as part of a contract between the Town of Macedon and every person who takes water supplied by the Town. Every person using this service shall be bound by this contract, including any different or supplemental conditions that may be added by the Town Board.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:[1]
CUSTOMER
The person responsible for payment of charges for water or other facilities and services.
OWNER'S SERVICE PIPE
The pipe or tubing leading from the curb stop and curb box across the customer's property to the customer's building, structure or premises and connected to the meter.
PERSON
An individual, firm, association or corporation, either public or private.
PUBLIC PLACES
All real property included within the boundaries or limits of any highway, street, road or lane, park or other open or improved area, used or frequented by the public generally, whether or not the ownership is held by the Town of Macedon.
SERVICE CONNECTIONS
The tap or connection to the main, corporation stop, curb box, curb stop and sufficient tubing or pipe to connect the corporation stop to the curb box.
SPECIFICATIONS
The written requirements adopted by the Board and published for general reference concerning the requirements for work and materials related to the Town of Macedon water system.
TOWN
The Town of Macedon.
TOWN BOARD or BOARD
Town Board of the Town of Macedon.

WATER DEPARTMENT
The Water Department of the Town of Macedon or the designee appointed by the Town Board to act on its behalf.
WATER SYSTEM
The entire system of pipes, valves, buildings, reservoirs, plants and other facilities owned by the Town of Macedon and used for the supply, treatment, storage and transmission of water.
