There
shall be an Office of Public Events in the Borough of Wood-Ridge.
The Office shall consist of one Public Events Coordinator who shall
be the Director of the Office and shall report to the Borough Administrator
and provide regular reports of the activity of the Office to the Borough
Administrator. The Office may also be staffed by one Deputy Coordinator,
and any number of assistants or aides, as may be determined by the
Mayor and Borough Council.
The Public
Events Coordinator and any other staff of the Office shall be appointed
by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council,
for a term of one year from January 1 to December 31 and shall receive
a salary or stipend as determined by the annual salary ordinance and
resolution. The filling of any vacancies shall be for the remainder
of the unexpired term.
The Public
Events Coordinator and staff shall be responsible for assisting in
the planning, administration, supervision, hosting, and publicizing
of community celebrations, events, and programs, coordinating the
work of any boards or committees engaged in such activities, serving
as a liaison to the various businesses, community groups, civic associations,
religious organizations, and charitable entities within the Borough,
and performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Mayor and
Borough Council and/or the Borough Administrator.
