The properly identified authorized agents of the Township shall
have the right of access to the premises served, at all reasonable
hours, for the purpose of reading meters, collecting samples, examining
fixtures and pipes, observing the manner of use, and for any other
purpose which is proper and necessary in the conduct of the Township's
business. The customer shall keep the area around the water meter
clear to allow for review and examination by Township representatives
and agents.
No agent or employee of the Township has authorization to orally
bind the Township by any promise, agreement or representation not
provided for in these Rules and Regulations.
Whenever any person(s), firm(s), partnership(s), corporation(s),
or any combination thereof causes or has caused any damage to the
water system or facilities of the Township, the party or parties causing
such damage shall immediately notify the Township of such damage.
The Township shall have the right to repair such damage or have such
damage repaired, and shall have the further right to recover the full
cost and expense of such repairs, including but not limited to the
costs for work performed by Township employees, for materials, supplies
and equipment used for each repair, from the party or parties causing
such damage jointly or separately.
The owner of any house, building or structure located on a street
along the line of any water main which is now in operation or is constructed
in the future in the Township of Allamuchy water service area, shall
connect the water system in his house, building or structure to the
Township water system. Any owner of a building or structure who fails
to connect to the water system after written notification by the Township
of the availability of service, shall be subject to the penalties
and remedies of the Township ordinance.
