All employees, except the Chief of Police and the Director of Public Works, within one year from the date of hiring, must reside within a fifteen-mile radius of the Village Hall. If any employee is not a resident within those limits within one year, the employee will need to apply for an extension of time from the Board of Trustees. The Chief of Police and Superintendent of Water and Sewer must reside in the Village limits. Failure to comply with the residency requirement is grounds for dismissal.

As a condition of his/her employment, each Village of Williamsville police officer shall maintain his/her permanent residence within a four-mile radius from the corporate limits of the Village of Williamsville as determined from time to time.
Said residency requirement is a condition of employment, and the failure to comply or to continue to comply with said residency requirement will result in the immediate termination of the police officer from his/her employment with the Village.
