A. 
The burial or interment of deceased persons, except as may otherwise be provided by the provisions of this chapter, is hereby prohibited in all locations within the Borough of West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
B. 
It shall not be unlawful to keep, store, bury or distribute cremated remains in the Borough of West Chester.

The Borough Council may, upon proper application through the office of the Borough Secretary, permit the burial or interment of bodies of deceased members of the clergy in church-owned lands within the limits of the borough.
A. 
Any person who shall be convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter before any District Justice shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.), together with costs of prosecution, or to imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both.

B. 
The imposition of any penalty for any violation of the provisions of this chapter shall not prevent the borough from seeking the abatement of any violation at the full expense of the person or persons causing such violation.
