GENERAL REFERENCES

The City of Rice Lake is a body corporate and politic with the powers of a municipality at common law and governed by the provisions of W.S.A. chs. 62 and 66, laws amending those chapters, other acts of the legislature and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin. The City of Rice Lake operates under the Mayor-Council form of government under W.S.A. ch. 62.

Pursuant to W.S.A. § 5.15, the City of Rice Lake shall be divided into the following wards, described as follows:
A. 
Ward 1. Boundaries of Ward 1, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Allen Street and South Main; thence east on Allen Street to Bundy Avenue; thence south on Bundy Avenue to Sawyer Street; thence east on Sawyer Street, crossing the Sawyer Street bridge to the municipal boundary, which is also the north line of Section 27, T35N, R11W, Town of Rice Lake; thence north along the municipal boundary, which is also the east shoreline of Rice Lake, to the north line of Section 22, T35N, R11W, Town of Rice Lake; thence west to the intersection of the west shoreline of Rice Lake and the easterly extension of Stout Street; thence north to the east terminus of Knapp Street; thence west on Knapp Street to North Main; thence south on North Main and South Main to the point of beginning.
B. 
Ward 2. Boundaries of Ward 2, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Messenger Street and the Wild Rivers Trail; thence east on Messenger Street to North Main; thence north on North Main to Knapp Street; thence west on Knapp Street to the Wild Rivers Trail; thence south on the Wild Rivers Trail to the point of beginning.
C. 
Ward 3. Boundaries of Ward 3, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Messenger Street and Wisconsin Avenue; thence east on Messenger Street to the Wild Rivers Trail; thence north on the Wild Rivers Trail to Knapp Street; thence west on Knapp Street to Wisconsin Avenue; thence south of Wisconsin Avenue to the point of beginning.
D. 
Ward 4. Boundaries of Ward 4, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Allen Street and Hatten Avenue; thence east on Allen Street to South Main; thence north on South Main to Messenger Street; thence west on Messenger Street to Hatten Avenue; thence south on Hatten Avenue to the point of beginning.
E. 
Ward 5. Boundaries of Ward 5, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Slocumb Street and Macauley Avenue; thence east on Slocumb Street to Bundy Avenue; thence north on Bundy Avenue to Allen Street; thence west on Allen Street to Macauley Avenue; thence south on Macauley Avenue to the point of beginning.

Ward 6. Boundaries of Ward 6, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Knapp Street and Hammond Avenue; thence east on Knapp Street to Lakeshore Drive; thence south on Lakeshore Drive to Stout Street; thence east to the intersection of the municipal boundary, which is also the east shoreline of Rice Lake, and the north line of Section 22, T35N, R11W, Town of Rice Lake; thence north along the municipal boundary to the northeast corner of Section 16, T35N, R11W; thence west along the municipal boundary, which is also the north line of Section 16, T35N, R11W, Town of Rice Lake, to Lakeshore Drive; thence north, west and south along the municipal boundary to Hammond Avenue; thence south on Hammond Avenue to Lindy Street; thence west on Lindy Street to Haugen Avenue; thence south on Haugen Avenue to Hammond Avenue; thence south on Hammond Avenue to the point of beginning.
G. 
Ward 7. Boundaries of Ward 7, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Knapp Street and West Avenue; thence east on Knapp Street to Hammond Avenue; thence north on Hammond Avenue to Haugen Avenue; thence north on Haugen Avenue to 22 1/2 Avenue; thence west and south along the municipal boundary to West Avenue; thence south on West Avenue to the point of beginning.
H. 
Ward 8. Boundaries of Ward 8, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of Augusta Street and West Avenue; thence east on Augusta Street to Wisconsin Avenue; thence north of Wisconsin Avenue to Knapp Street; thence west on Knapp Street to West Avenue; thence west, south and east along the municipal boundary to West Avenue; thence south on West Avenue to the point of beginning.

Boundaries of Ward 11, City of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, shall commence at the intersection of the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section 29, T35N, R11W, Town of Rice Lake and West Avenue; thence east along the municipal boundary and Southwest Street to Wisconsin Avenue; thence north on Wisconsin Avenue to Allen Street; thence west on Allen Street to West Avenue; thence south on West Avenue to the point of beginning.
