[HISTORY: Adopted by the Common Council of
the City of Ithaca 10-7-1998 by Ord. No. 98-25. (This ordinance also
repealed former Ch. 7, Appointments, Mayoral, adopted 4-6-1988, as amended.)
Amended in its entirety 11-3-2021 by Ord. No. 2021-09[1]. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
The procedure for making appointments by the Mayor and/or the City Manager as provided for in applicable provisions of the charter and code (for purposes of this chapter, the “Appointing Official”), to any office, board, commission or committee for which the approval of the Common Council is required or sought shall be as follows, except as provided in charter § C-26:
A.
The Appointing Official shall give written notice
of the proposed appointment to the members of the Common Council at
least seven days in advance of the Council meeting at which Council
action is requested.
B.
The written notice shall include reasonably sufficient
information about the nominee to justify the proposed appointment.
