Editor's Note: Section 2 of this local law provides as follows: "To
the extent that the subject matter of this local law is inconsistent with
the provisions of Sections 24 and 24-a of the Town Law, the Town Board finds
that the subject matter is appropriate for exercise of its powers to amend
and supersede provisions of the Town Law under Municipal Home Rule Law Section
10(1)(ii)(d)(3) and Section 22(1). The Town Board finds that these matters
are of particular concern and fall within legislative powers vested under
Municipal Home Rule Law Sections 10(1)(ii)(a)(1), (2) and (3). To the extent
that the aforesaid sections of the Town Law are deemed inconsistent with the
subject of this local law, they are hereby superseded or amended."
A special election on a proposition to change the term
of office of an elected official of the Town of Hyde Park may be conducted
at any time and date that is set by resolution of the Town Board; such special
election may be conducted on the date of the biennial general election or
otherwise as the Town Board directs.
