Pursuant to the authority contained in §§ 15.1-115 through 15.1-130 of the Code of Virginia,[1] there is hereby created and established the offices of County Administrator and Assistant County Administrator to the Board of Supervisors of the County.

The County Administrator is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors and discharges the duties of a County Administrator as set forth in §§ 15.1-117, 15.1-121 and 15.1-127 through 15.1-130 of the Code of Virginia, as amended.[1] The County Administrator is responsible for discharging all lawful County resolutions, orders and ordinances and is the chief executive officer of the County. He/she is responsible for the administrative affairs and the operation of all central government departments and functions, prepares the annual budget and officially represents the Board of Supervisors and the County. The Assistant County Administrator shall serve as the chief executive officer of the County in the absence or disability of the County Administrator and shall perform all duties of the office.
