The purpose of this article is to protect the
health, safety and welfare of City employees and the visiting public.
"Smoke " or "smoking" means the carrying or
holding of any lighted pipe, cigar or cigarette of any kind, or any
other lighted smoking equipment, or the lighting, inhaling or exhaling
of smoke from a pipe, cigar or cigarette of any kind.
A.
Smoking is hereby prohibited in all city-owned buildings.
The City Manager shall cause signs to be posted conspicuous to public
view stating "No Smoking."
B.
No person shall smoke in any city-owned building,
and any person who continues to smoke in such building after having
been asked to refrain from smoking shall be subject to a civil penalty
of not more than $25. Any law-enforcement officer may issue a summons
regarding a violation of this article.
