This chapter sets forth provisions for regulation
of address numbers on improved property within the corporate limits
of the Town of Bel Air. Provisions set forth within this chapter establish
standards governing the size, location and types of acceptable numerals.
In this chapter, the following terms have the
meanings indicated:
OWNER
The individual, partnership, firm, association, corporation
or other entity whose name appears on the tax records of the Town
for any property subject to the provisions of this chapter.
SUPERVISORY EMPLOYEE
Any employee of the Town Department of Planning and Community
Development and the Town Department of Public Works.
A Town representative who observes a violation
of this chapter may issue a written warning to the owner of the property
involved. The warning shall be issued by certified mail originating
from the Police Department. The warning shall notify the owner:
A. Of the requirements of this chapter.
B. Of the nature of the violation and what must be done
to comply with the regulations of this chapter.
C. That failure to comply with the warning within 30
days will result in the issuance of a municipal infraction citation.
Exemptions to the foregoing provisions of this
chapter may be granted by the Board of Town Commissioners. Request
should be made in writing by the owner, accompanied by such information
and data as may be required by the Commissioners in each
case.
A violation of this chapter shall be declared to be a municipal infraction and the violator shall be subject to a fine as provided in Chapter
1, Article
II of this Code.
