No person, persons, firm or corporation shall keep in or about his,
her, its or their premises for storage, sale, resale, future use or otherwise,
except as hereinafter provided, any used or unused, usable or unusable refrigerators
or iceboxes unless such refrigerators and/or iceboxes are stored in a closed
warehouse, storeroom or other enclosed building or structure having doors
and windows which are capable of being securely locked and unless such doors
and windows are kept securely locked at all times when such buildings are
unoccupied by the owners of such refrigerators and/or iceboxes or by a duly
authorized agent, servant or employee of such owner; provided, however, that
nothing herein contained shall prohibit the keeping or storage of any such
refrigerators and/or iceboxes in the open, in or about any premises in the
original unopened factory cartons of such refrigerators and/or iceboxes; and
provided, further, that nothing herein contained shall prohibit the keeping
of any such refrigerators and/or iceboxes in the open, in or about any premises
if, but only if, all of the doors of such refrigerators and/or iceboxes are
completely removed therefrom; and provided, further, that nothing herein contained
shall prohibit the keeping of one or more such refrigerators and/or iceboxes
by the owner or tenant of any bona fide residential unit or business establishment,
where such refrigerators and/or iceboxes are bona fide used for the storage
and preservation of perishable items or articles.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall, upon conviction, be guilty of an infraction as provided in
Section 503 of the Town Charter.
