[Amended 4-19-1990 by Ord.
No. 90-16]
It shall be unlawful for any person to carry on or conduct traveling
or other shows, circuses, plays, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances,
and all street parades in connection therewith, theaters, show houses, opera
houses and concert halls within the borough without having first obtained
a license therefor.
The fee for a license under this chapter shall be:
A. Circuses and carnivals: twenty-five dollars ($25.) per
day.
B. Bazaars and other events: two dollars ($2.) per day.
With each application for a license, the applicant shall submit a certified
letter from a reputable insurance company stating that, in the event that
the license is issued, a liability insurance policy shall be issued to adequately
protect the life, limb and property of all persons against any and all injuries
which might result from the specific event being sponsored. If the license
is granted, a liability policy, in such form as may be approved by the Borough
Attorney, shall be posted with the Clerk prior to the actual commencement
of the event.
Each applicant shall provide for the proper safety and protection of
the general comfort and welfare of the public. To this end, each applicant
shall be required to maintain a force as may be deemed necessary under the
circumstances to adequately keep the peace during the course of the event.
