No person shall discharge a firearm within six hundred (600) feet of
any dwelling, house, public street or highway. This section shall not be construed
to prohibit the use of firearms for the protection of life, person or property
or the discharge of firearms on any firing range equipped with proper safeguards
for the protection of persons and property. Any firing range which is constructed
in accordance with range plans provided by the National Rifle Association
shall be considered as having proper safeguards.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties set forth in §
1-17 of this Code.
