The Township of Franklin hereby authorizes the entry into a mutual aid
agreement for supplemental police protection with the Township of Delaware,
for mutual aid pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14-156.1 et seq. The aforesaid mutual
aid agreement for supplemental police protection shall be subject to the approval
by resolution of the governing bodies of each Township prior to its execution
by the Mayor and Clerk of the Township of Franklin.
This article shall take effect immediately after passage and publication
in accordance with the law of the State of New Jersey, but will remain inoperative
until the adoption of reciprocal ordinances by the other municipalities set
forth in the previous section of this article. In addition, no mutual aid
agreement shall be effective unless and until signed by the appropriate governmental
officials of the other municipalities involved pursuant to applicable state
statutes.
