This chapter may be cited and referred to as the "Subdivision and Site Plan Ordinance" of the Township of Franklin.

It is the purpose of this chapter to implement the provisions of the Municipal Land Use Law, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq. (the "MLUL"), as that statute may from time to time be amended. The provisions of the MLUL are incorporated herein and establish minimum procedures and standards, which this chapter supplements as permitted by law.

Unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning, the words and terms contained in this chapter shall have the meanings ascribed to them by the Municipal Land Use Law, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq., in § 220-5 of Chapter 220, Land Use, or in other chapters of the Code of Franklin Township.

Violations of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:55D-55 and Chapter 1, Article I, General Penalty.
