There is hereby created and established the office of Deputy City Manager in the government of the City of Hackensack.
It shall be the duty of the Deputy City Manager of the City of Hackensack to:
A. 
Perform such tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned to him from time to time by the City Manager.
B. 
Act in the place and stead of the City Manager during his absence from the City of Hackensack, whether such absence is caused by official duties, sickness, leave of absence or other causes.

The Deputy City Manager shall receive such salary as shall be provided in the annual Salary Ordinance.[1]
