A.
The purpose of this article is to authorize off-duty police-related employment of Kinnelon police officers and establish a formal policy regarding the use of said officers during off-duty police-related employment.

Members of the Police Department shall be permitted to accept police-related employment for private persons or entities (employers) only during off-duty hours and at such times as shall not interfere with the efficient performance of their regularly scheduled duty or emergency duty for the Borough.
C.
Any employer wishing to employ off-duty police officers shall first obtain the approval of the Chief of Police, which approval shall be granted only if such employment shall not be inconsistent with the efficient functioning and good reputation of the Borough Police Department, and shall not endanger or threaten the safety of the officer or officers who are to perform the work.
D.
No off-duty work shift of an individual police officer shall be less than two hours or more than specified in the request for services.
