A. 
The positions of Borough Prosecutor, and any number of Special Borough Prosecutors as authorized by a resolution of the Mayor and Council, are hereby created in the Borough of Maywood.
B. 
All references in this article to the Borough Prosecutor shall include any Special Borough Prosecutors appointed pursuant to this article.
C. 
The Special Borough Prosecutors shall serve in the place of the Municipal Prosecutor, and shall assist the Borough Prosecutor as necessary for the proper functioning of the municipal court, and in case of a conflict of interest or absence that prevents the Borough Prosecutor from serving as Prosecutor.

A. 
The Borough Prosecutor and any Special Borough Prosecutors appointed shall serve for a term of one year effective January 1 of each year of appointment, or the date of the confirmation of the appointment, and continuing until December 31 of the year of the appointment or until the appointment and qualification of the person's successor, whichever is later.
B. 
If any Special Borough Prosecutors are appointed, then the Borough Prosecutor shall be deemed to be the Chief Municipal Prosecutor, as required by N.J.S.A. 2B:25-4(f).
C. 
The salary of the Borough Prosecutor, and any Special Borough Prosecutors, shall be as set forth in the Borough's salary ordinance.
It shall be the duty of the Borough Prosecutor to present and prosecute all criminal and quasi-criminal matters, violations of Title 39 of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated, violations of Borough ordinances and all other matters cognizable before the Municipal Court of the Borough.
