No person shall, in any public park or playground:
A. 
Climb upon, cut, break, injure, deface or remove any wall, fence, equipment, shelter, seat, structure, statue or other erection, turf, tree, shrub or other plant or flower.
B. 
Throw stones or other missiles.
C. 
Discard papers, garbage, cans, boxes or other refuse except in receptacles provided for that purpose.
D. 
Utter loud, threatening, abusive or indecent language.
E. 
Commit any indecent or obscene act.
F. 
Annoy another person or act in a disorderly manner.
G. 
Fish in any water.
H. 
Disturb or annoy any birds or animals.
I. 
Send or throw or place any animal or thing in or on the waters.
J. 
Permit dogs or other animals to defecate on any park property.

K. 
Deface, place graffiti upon or purposefully damage any monument, memorial, building, flagpole, dugouts, fencing, shrubbery, trees, benches, playground equipment, walkways or structures.

Except by authority of the Mayor and Council and subject to its rules and regulations, no person shall, in any public park or playground:
A. 
Discharge or carry any firearm, firecracker, torpedo or fireworks.
B. 
Make a fire.
C. 
Preach or make any harangue or oration or public address.
D. 
Play a musical instrument.
E. 
Play, engage or take part in any organized game or competitive sport unless such activity has been authorized by the authority of the Mayor and Council.
F. 
Bathe in any water.
G. 
Move in a military or civic parade, drill or procession.
H. 
Offer or expose articles for sale.
I. 
Post or display any sign, placard, target, transparency, advertisement or any device of business.
J. 
Solicit business or alms.
K. 
Go upon turf areas when and where "Keep Off" signs or like signs are posted. No activity shall be permitted on turf areas which is deemed by the Mayor and Council to be injurious to the turf.

A. 
Consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages prohibited. No person shall consume or have in his possession any alcoholic beverage in any public park within the Borough of Maywood.
B. 
Glass containers prohibited. No person shall bring into any public park nor have in his possession within any public park any glass container or other glass of any kind for the holding, containing, eating or drinking of any food or beverage.
C. 
Permit for exemption. Notwithstanding any contrary provision contained in this section, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Maywood may, by resolution, authorize the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages or the use or possession of glass containers of the kind described in Subsection B above in a designated park at a designated time or times in connection with a specific event or series of events which have been authorized by resolution of said Mayor and Council. Application for such a permit shall be made to the Borough Clerk in such form as the Mayor and Council shall require.
D. 
Penalty. Any person who shall violate any provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished as set forth in § 233-11 of this chapter.

No person owning, keeping or harboring a dog shall permit or suffer it to enter upon or remain in any public park; provided, however, that, for the purpose of this section, the above-mentioned restrictions shall not apply to Seeing Eye dogs accompanying blind persons.

No person shall feed, by giving, placing, exposing, depositing, distributing or scattering any edible material with the intention of feeding, attracting or enticing wildlife, in any public park or on any other property owned or operated by the Borough of Maywood, any wildlife, excluding confined wildlife (for example, wildlife confined in zoos, parks or rehabilitation centers, or unconfined wildlife at environmental education centers). For the purposes of this section, wildlife shall include all animals that are neither human nor domesticated. Feeding shall not include, however, baiting in the legal taking of fish and/or game, where otherwise permitted by law.
A. 
No person shall be or remain or loiter in any public park or playground between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

B. 
The provisions of Subsection A of this section shall not be construed to apply to members of the police force, park officials or other borough officials or employees while on duty or performing their respective duties in any park or playground.
C. 
Special permission may be granted by the Mayor and Council to keep any park or playground open beyond the hours specified in Subsection A.
A. 
Whenever it shall be deemed necessary for the protection of life or property or if field conditions are such that use thereof will damage park property, park officials and keepers of parks may require that all persons refrain from occupying any designated prohibited areas in any public parks and playgrounds.
B. 
No person shall enter or occupy any area designated as a prohibited area.
A. 
No vehicle shall enter any park or playground except at the established entrances, which shall be appropriately marked.
B. 
No vehicle shall be parked therein except in areas designated for that purpose.
C. 
No vehicle being used for commercial purposes shall enter or drive in said park except by written permission of the Mayor and Council.

Baseball diamonds, tennis courts and handball courts shall be used solely for those designated purposes. Priority for time upon such courts or diamonds shall be given to those persons or organizations who shall obtain a permit therefor, issued by the Recreation Commission upon written request for the same, stating the time and date for which the permit is desired. Fees, if any, are to be determined from time to time at the discretion of the Mayor and Council. No other person shall use any baseball diamond, tennis court or handball court if any individual or organization has obtained a permit for the time period in question. Such permits shall have absolute priority, and any person failing to yield the use of such diamond or court in the face of a conflicting permit for the time in question shall be in direct violation of this chapter.
A. 
Permits for the use of any park for picnics or games shall be issued at the sole discretion of the Recreation Commissioners.
B. 
A deposit as set forth in Chapter 169, Fees, shall be required from all organizations receiving permission to use any portion of the park for picnic purposes. Said deposit shall be returned by the Recreation Commissioners, provided that the park is left in the condition in which it was found. If, however, it shall become necessary for the Recreation Commissioners to have any refuse, etc., removed as the result of such use, the cost of removal shall be deducted from the amount of the deposit, and the balance, if any, shall be returned.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both. With respect to a violation of Subsection K of § 233-1, there shall be a minimum mandatory fine of $100.
