From and after the effective date of this chapter,
it shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firms or corporations,
either as principal or as agent (hereinafter called the "operator"),
to have, keep and maintain a carnival within the Borough of Bridgeport,
whether on public or private property, without first having obtained
a license therefor from the Borough Clerk.

The operator shall pay for said license the
sum as set by resolution of Borough Council from time to time; provided,
however, that said license shall not be transferable from one operator
to another. Said license shall not be good for more than one week.
The Borough police, under the directions of
the Mayor, shall inspect all carnivals.
The license granted under this chapter shall
be conspicuously exhibited at all times at the carnival.

Any person who shall be convicted of a violation
of any of the provisions of this chapter before any Magisterial District
Judge shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 and costs
of prosecution or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not
to exceed 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The continuation
of such violation for each successive day shall constitute a separate
offense, and the person or persons allowing or permitting the continuation
of the violation may be punished as provided above for such separate
offense.
