It shall be the duty of the owner or occupant
of every house or other building in the Borough of Bridgeport to cause
the same to be numbered in accordance with the requirements of this
chapter. The Codes Officer is authorized and directed to assign numbers
to all houses and other buildings in the Borough of Bridgeport in
conformity with the general plan for such numbering existing in the
Borough of Bridgeport.
The owner or occupant shall cause the number
so assigned to be posted conspicuously on the street side of the house
or building, on the entrance gatepost or beside the driveway, in such
a manner that it will be clearly visible and legible from the street.

Any person, firm or corporation which shall
number any house or building contrary to the provisions of this chapter
or to the instructions of the Codes Officer, or who shall fail, neglect
or refuse to number a house or building within 30 days after receipt
from the Codes Officer of notice to do so, shall be subject to prosecution
before a Magisterial District Judge in a summary proceeding and, upon
conviction, shall be sentenced to pay the costs of prosecution and
a fine not to exceed $1,000 or imprisoned in the county jail for a
term not to exceed 30 days, or both.
