[Added 12-13-1994 by Ord. No. 20-94]
Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation
is such that it covers the street, highway or thoroughfare, no vehicle
shall be parked on any street in the Borough of Totowa. The above
parking prohibition shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased
until the streets have been plowed sufficiently to the extent that
parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in
violation of this article shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace
to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer
may provide for the removal of such vehicle. Before regaining possession
of the vehicle, the owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal
and storage which may result from such removal.
The effectiveness of this article is contingent
on signs being erected as required by law.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of a violation of a
provision of this article or any supplement thereto shall be liable
to a penalty of not more than $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or both.
