[Adopted 6-19-1962 (Ch. 177, Art. VIII, of the 1974 Code)]
The duties of the Local Registrar of Vital Statistics, hereinafter called the "Registrar," shall be as set forth in those portions of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey regulating such position. In addition, he shall have such duties as may be delegated to him by the Board of Health or its Health Officer.
A. 
The Registrar shall maintain his office and keep his records in the place provided by the Board of Health.
B. 
The Registrar shall be in attendance at his office on the days and during the hours fixed by resolution of the Board of Health.
The Registrar shall receive compensation as provided in the annual Salary Ordinance of the Board of Health[1] in lieu of the receipt of a fee for each birth and death properly registered from the Borough of Totowa registration district, and in lieu of the receipt of a fee in the event that no birth or death was registered during any month.

The Registrar shall keep a true and accurate account of all fees received by him from the public at large, render such account to the Board monthly and turn over such fees to the Borough Treasurer upon receiving the same.
The provisions of this article shall apply to the Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics when he shall act in place of the Registrar, and likewise they shall apply to any Subregistrar.
