The Board of Health shall appoint a Cemetery
Inspector, and said Cemetery Inspector shall hold office for a period
of two years and until his successor is appointed, unless sooner removed
by a three-fifths vote of the Board of Health.
It shall be the duty of the Cemetery Inspector
to examine into the condition of any cemetery or burial grounds and
ascertain whether the laws regarding it are duly observed and to see
to the strict enforcement of the ordinances of the Borough of Totowa
and statutes of the State of New Jersey relating to the interment,
burial, disinterment or removal of any dead body in any cemetery,
burial ground or place within the Borough of Totowa, together with a report of any situation or condition existing
that he deems detrimental to the health of the public.
The Cemetery Inspector shall submit written
monthly reports to the Board of Health, which reports shall indicate
the number of burials, interments, disinterments or removals of dead
bodies in or from any cemetery, burial grounds or place within the
Borough of Totowa.
The Cemetery Inspector shall be compensated
for his duties performed, which compensation shall be as provided
in the annual Salary Ordinance of the Board of Health of the Borough
of Totowa.
