Upon the enactment of parallel ordinances by the other municipalities named in this article, a sewerage authority is hereby created pursuant to the Sewerage Authorities Law (N.J.S.A. 40:14A-1 et seq.), as a body politic and corporate under the name and style of the "Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority."
The Sewerage Authority hereby created shall have such functions, powers and duties as are provided by the Sewerage Authorities Law, as amended and supplemented, and shall be governed, administered and financed pursuant to that law, and any other provision of law applicable to such authorities and shall assume all powers, duties and obligations heretofore exercised or incurred by the Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Group on behalf of the group or on behalf of the participating municipalities.
The Authority shall consist of six members, one to be appointed by each of the governing bodies in accordance with the provisions of the Sewerage Authorities Law, as amended and supplemented.
The Municipal Clerk is authorized and directed to file forthwith a duly certified copy of this article with the Secretary of State of New Jersey and with the Municipal Clerks of the Boroughs of Hopewell and Princeton and the Townships of Hopewell, Princeton and West Windsor.

This article shall take effect upon passage and publication pursuant to law of parallel ordinances by the Boroughs of Hopewell, Pennington and Princeton and of the Townships of Hopewell, Princeton and West Windsor, all in the county of Mercer.
