Whatever is dangerous to human life or health; whatever building or part or cellar thereof is overcrowded or not provided with adequate means of egress, or is not sufficiently supported, ventilated, sewered, drained, lighted or cleaned; and whatever renders soil, air, water or food impure or unwholesome is declared to be a nuisance and to be illegal; and every person having aided in creating or contributing to the same, or who may support, continue or retain any of them shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this article and shall also be liable for the expense of the abatement or remedy required.
Swill, brine, urine of animals or any stinking, noxious or offensive liquid of any kind, or any foul, filthy matter whatever, shall not be allowed to drip, run or fall from or out of any building, structure or vehicle into or upon any street, land or public place.
A. 
No person shall leave any discarded material of any kind or any rubbish or refuse lying in sight of any public walk or highway within the Village after a reasonable time in which to dispose of the same.
B. 
All rubbish and litter must be taken care of by the owner, agent or occupant of any property within the Village.
C. 
No person, firm or corporation shall place upon the property of another within the Village anything that may or will injure the same.
The owner or occupant of all property within the Village shall cut or cause to be cut all weeds and unsightly growths at least twice during the summer months and at such other times as may be required by order of the Board of Trustees.
A. 
No driver of a motor vehicle shall use a cutout within the Village or sound a horn attached to such vehicle when unnecessary.
B. 
No person shall make or permit to be made any unnecessary noise within the Village.
The owner or owners, occupant or occupants of property abutting on public streets or grounds in the Village of Canton shall not erect, use or maintain barbed-wire or similar fences along the boundaries of such streets or grounds.

A. 
Any person who is found to have violated any provision of this article shall be subject to any of the following penalties for each violation, as the court may determine in the exercise of its discretion:
(1) 
Such person may be subject to pay a fine in an amount to be fixed by the court, not to exceed the sum of $250;
(2) 
Such person may be directed to perform community service as directed by the court, not to exceed 25 hours; or
(3) 
Such person may receive an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal. At its discretion, the court may condition its grant of an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal upon the performance by such person of community service as directed by the court, not to exceed 25 hours.
B. 
If such person shall have received notice to abate any nuisance and shall neglect to do so, each day's continuation of the same after receipt of notice shall constitute a separate violation of this article.
