A. 
Master plumbers.
(1) 
Only registered master plumbers may apply for a plumbing permit, required by the Whitpain Township Plumbing Code, for the purpose of conducting a business or trade within the Township.
(2) 
Qualifications. Only those individuals possessing a valid master plumber registration card issued by a government, approved regional test center or trade organization which requires a written, manual or combination written and manual test before issuance of a registration card; or a master plumber possessing a valid Whitpain Township registration card up to July 31, 1986, may qualify as a master plumber.
B. 
Journeyman plumbers.
(1) 
Journeyman plumbers, holding a valid Whitpain Township registration card and employed by a master plumber registered in the Township, may work unsupervised conducting the business of plumbing as the agent of his/her employer. Journeyman plumbers are prohibited from applying for a plumbing permit for the purpose of conducting a business or trade within the Township.
(2) 
Qualifications. See Subsection A(2) above.
C. 
Apprentice plumbers.
(1) 
Apprentice plumbers, holding a valid Whitpain Township registration card and employed by a master plumber registered in the Township, may only work under the supervision of a master or journeyman plumber. Apprentice plumbers are prohibited from applying for a plumbing permit for the purpose of conducting a business or trade within the Township.
(2) 
Qualifications. Only those individuals furnishing proof of employment by a master plumber and proof of enrollment in valid apprentice training course may qualify as an apprentice.
At the expiration of each calendar year, said registration shall be null and void. A registered master, journeyman or apprentice plumber desiring to continue in or work at the business of plumbing or house drainage for the ensuing year shall, before the first day of February of each year, surrender said registration for the current year to the Whitpain Township Code Enforcement Officer.
The registration granted under this chapter may be suspended or revoked for a period not to exceed 120 days by the Township of Whitpain when a registered plumber shall violate any of these rules and regulations or is found guilty of a summary offense for failing to correct a Plumbing Code violation.
