There is hereby created in the Borough of Highland
Park a Municipal Alliance Committee consisting of the following:
A. The Mayor, and/or his/her designee;
B. The Chairperson of the Public Safety Committee, and/or
his/her designee;
C. The Chief of Police, or his/her designee;
D. The President of the Highland Park Board of Education,
or his/her designee;
E. The Superintendent of Schools for Highland Park, or
his/her designee;
F. The Student Assistance Coordinator for Highland Park;
G. A representative of the Highland Park Parent Teacher
Association designated by the Association;
H. A representative of the Highland Park Education Association
designated by the Association;
I. A representative of the Chamber of Commerce designated
by the Chamber or a representative of the Cooperative Business Association
designated by the Association;
J. The Municipal Court Judge, or his/her designee;
K. Not to exceed two representatives of local civic associations;
L. Not to exceed two representatives of local religious
organizations;
M. At least two private citizens who are residents of
the Borough;
N. One student who is a senior in high school;
O. One student who is a junior in high school.
Members in classes listed in §
9-29K,
L,
M,
N and
O shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council for terms of one year, except that members of classes listed in §
9-29N and
O shall have been recommended by their principal; members of the foregoing classes shall serve until their successors shall have been appointed and qualified. Terms of ex-officio members shall be coextensive with their terms of office or employment. Members in classes listed in §
9-29G,
H and
I shall serve until replaced by the organization they represent.
Members shall serve without compensation but
may be reimbursed for expenses incurred subject to the limit of available
appropriations.
