Except as provided in this article, no person
shall drive or operate a vehicle in excess of 30 miles per hour within
the corporate limits of the Village.

A. Route 5. No person shall drive or operate a vehicle
in excess of 30 miles per hour on Route 5, also known as "Genesee
Street," in the area bounded by the railroad tracks on the west and
the intersection of Redfield Avenue and Route 5 on the east, all as
posted. No person shall drive or operate a vehicle in excess of 40
miles per hour on Route 5 in the area bounded by the intersection
of Redfield Avenue and Route 5 on the west and the easterly Village
boundary line on the east, all as posted.
B. Sheffield Lane. No person shall operate a motor vehicle
or motorcycle upon Sheffield Lane, commencing at the intersection
of Sheffield Lane with the Fayetteville Manlius Read (Route 257) and
proceeding 1,075 feet along said Sheffield Lane to the Immaculate
Conception Church property where said Sheffield Lane terminates, at
a rate of speed in excess of 25 miles per hour.

No person shall drive or operate a vehicle in
excess of 20 miles per hour in all school zones where so posted during
the school noon hour, school recess or while children are going to
or leaving school during opening or closing hours. Franklin Street
between the easterly lot line of a parcel described in the Village
of Fayetteville Official Tax Map as Parcel 17-16-18 and the intersection
of Franklin Street and South Manlius Street is established as a school
zone.
Every person convicted of a violation of this
article shall be subject to the penalties as provided in the Vehicle
and Traffic Law of the state.
