As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
SCRAP METAL PROCESSING FACILITY
An establishment engaged primarily in the purchase, processing and
shipment of ferrous and/or nonferrous scrap, the end product of which is the
production of raw material for remelting purposes for steel mills, foundries,
smelters, refiners and similar users.
SCRAP PROCESSOR
Any person, association, partnership or corporation operating and
maintaining a scrap metal processing facility.
License. It shall be unlawful for any person, association, partnership
or corporation to engage in business as a scrap processor unless such scrap
processor shall have complied with the provisions of this article and obtained
a license to do so from the City Manager. Each license shall expire on June
30 of the year next ensuing, except that a license issued between January
1, 1977, to June 30, 1977, shall expire on June 30, 1977.
Application for a license hereunder shall be made in writing to the
City Manager, by the person to be licensed, on forms to be furnished by said
City Manager. The application shall contain such information as to name and
address of the applicant and such other information as said City Manager may
reasonably require.
The annual fee for a license under this article shall be $75, except
the license fee for a license issued between January 1, 1977, to June 30,
1977, shall be $37.50.
