[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of Geneva 7-3-1968 as Ch. 65, §§ 65.13, 65.14 and 65.100A, of the 1968 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall commit any of the following acts within any designated playground in the City of Geneva.
A. 
No person shall operate a motor vehicle within any designated playground in the City of Geneva without authorization of the Director of Public Works, and no person shall park a motor vehicle in any such playground except in an area authorized for such parking without authorization of the Director of Public Works. The following are designated playgrounds:

(1) 
Neider (North Genesee St.).
(2) 
Gulvin (Middle St.).
(3) 
Jefferson (Jefferson Ave.).
(4) 
Washington (Washington St.).
(5) 
J.J. Chartres Homes (Pre-Emption St.).
(6) 
Loomis Woods (Carter Rd.).
(7) 
Richards Avenue.
(8) 
All temporary playgrounds as may be designated by the City Manager.

Brook Street Playground.

B. 
No person shall park or stand a motor vehicle in the south entranceway to the Jefferson Avenue Playground located between No. 202 and No. 210 Hamilton Street.

C. 
No person shall enter into any designated playground between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless otherwise authorized by the Director of Recreation.

A. 
No person shall commit any of the following acts within any city park.
(1) 
Play ball, frisbee or any other sport involving the throwing of any object except where an area is expressly provided for that purpose.
(2) 
Enter into or upon any public park between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. except for through passage on the public sidewalks.
(3) 
Wade or swim in any fountain or body of water not expressly designed or intended for bathing.
(4) 
No person shall smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or use any other form of tobacco.

B. 
Exceptions: Provisions regarding hours of operation and wading shall not apply to the launching of boats. Provisions prohibiting smoking and tobacco use shall not be applicable to areas immediately adjacent to the Geneva Events Center.

A. 
Any group exceeding 25, utilizing park facilities, must obtain a permit seven days in advance.
B. 
It is unlawful to have, possess, carry or consume alcoholic beverages in the park.
C. 
Glass beverage containers are prohibited.
D. 
No overnight parking or camping allowed.
E. 
Fires are not permitted.
F. 
Firearms and weapons are prohibited.
G. 
Fireworks are prohibited.
H. 
Vending is allowed by permit only.
I. 
Wildlife shall not be disturbed and hunting is prohibited.
J. 
Profanity, abusive language, fighting or disturbing the peace will not be allowed.
K. 
No congregating between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
L. 
No person shall deface, destroy, remove or disturb any part of park property.
M. 
Pets must be on leash.
N. 
Litter shall be placed in receptacles provided.
O. 
Motorized vehicles are prohibited on park property, with the exception of parking lots and drives providing access to parking lots from the road. Snowmobiles are prohibited. All vehicles must be driven in a safe manner and drivers must adhere to all parking and traffic regulations.
P. 
No swimming along the lakeshore, this includes boat launch and piers, except by special permit of the city.
Q. 
No person or persons shall make, permit to continue, or cause to be made or continued, any noise disturbance or loud unusual noise in such a manner or at such a volume that it interrupts and/or unreasonably disturbs any persons, including radios and tape decks.
R. 
Riding of bikes is permitted on trails provided.
S. 
No overnight parking along the lakeshore or public areas.
T. 
Group use regulations:
(1) 
All activities must be conducted in a safe and orderly manner. Potentially dangerous games involving thrown or propelled objects are not allowed.
(2) 
Supervision at a ratio of one adult age 21 or older per 10 minors must be provided.
(3) 
The group will be responsible for seeing that all litter is deposited in trash cans provided.
(4) 
Group use is restricted to normal operating hours.
(5) 
Organizations or groups using park facilities for special events will purchase insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 for bodily injury liability and property damage (combined single limit). Such insurance will be written by a company licensed to do business in New York State and shall be evidenced by a certificate of insurance which complies with the following provisions: (added by city rules currently).

A violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or by both said fine and imprisonment. Each day any such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate violation.
