No person shall set off, fire or discharge any revolver, pistol, gun, cannon, or firearm of any kind or character or hunt with a bow and arrow (except on Borough property in accordance with Chapter 105) within the corporate limits of the Borough; providing, always, that nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to extend to any military drills or maneuvers under competent supervision, to any target practice or competition in and upon a firing range approved by the Mayor and Council, or to any police or peace officer in discharge of his or her duties or to any person defending himself/herself, family or property.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before the Judge of Municipal Court, suffer a fine or penalty of not in excess of $100 for the first offense and a fine or penalty not in excess of $200 for a second or subsequent offense.
